Foster Care Secretary to Nässjö Municipality

Are you an experienced social worker with a particular interest in foster care and the role of a foster care secretary? Do you want to work with us to tackle today's and tomorrow's challenges in social services? Welcome to Nässjö!

Nässjö Municipality focuses on providing children with the conditions for a good upbringing. To best carry out this work and also provide greater opportunities for development, we are organized into three units for children and youth: Investigation Unit, Placement Unit, and Intervention Unit. We have about 65 employees, and the units work closely together.

We are now looking for a foster care secretary as a colleague is retiring. The foster care group consists of six social workers, seven foster care secretaries, and a team leader who together are responsible for monitoring the care of foster children and supporting our contractors. The foster care group has a lot of experience, high competence, and great job satisfaction and engagement. We continuously develop methods related to foster care and value teamwork. We offer support to parents during visits. We provide training in Guiding Interaction and the Circle of Trust to our foster homes.

We document in Combine. External supervision is included in the position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a foster care secretary, you will be responsible for recruiting, investigating, and following up on foster homes, emergency homes, contact families, and contact persons. You will guide and support the contractors to provide them with the conditions to manage their assignments, which can be both rewarding and challenging. Responsibility for contract and compensation issues is included. The work is done together with colleagues and close supervision.

You will also work closely with the child's social worker to create the best possible conditions for our placed children. The position involves travel to contractors, which may include evening work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or other relevant education. You have experience in social services' authority work directed at children and youth. Experience working with placed children and youth, preferably as a foster care secretary, is an advantage.

You have good knowledge of social services' assignments and current legislation. As a person, you are confident, meticulous, independent, and can handle changing conditions and plans in your work.

Since we have a strong focus on collaboration for the child's best interests, the work involves many contacts, both internally and externally. You have the ability to see the whole picture in different situations and to work in a team with others. Therefore, you should have good collaboration skills, be outgoing and positive. You should be able to express yourself easily in both speech and writing. Personal suitability is highly valued.

We are looking for someone who has a B driver's license.
